Karen from the Gold Coast about her Sulphur Crested Cockatoo baby : -
We have named him Charlie (or Cheeky Charlie to some). Not very original but seems to suit him and got the majority vote. Well, he has certainly settled in very quickly and loves his cage – which he does not spend a lot of time in, but is quite happy to go back there when he wants some quite time or a feed & drink.
On day two, he sorted the dogs out and made it quite clear that he is now boss of the animals in the house. The 3 yr old Ridgeback (Harry) and the 14 year old poodle (Jazz) have accepted his claim to be King and they all get on fine. It’s obvious your birds are raised very well. Even though it’s only been 2 weeks, it feels like Charlie has been here forever. He is so much a part of our family now, hopping up on our hand or shoulder whenever we go near him, or following us around the house. He chats away quite happily and is getting really close to saying a few things more clearly now.
I will send you some photos soon but for now just wanted to let you know he is OK and we all love him to bits .
